i hate it when

i hate it when

i hate it when

Elizabeth Hudgens

i hate it when

by what we despise
and so it goes

shaped by such hostility
my little wars
on culture waged
bring very little hope
i wish i were
known instead by
all that i am for
those things that cause
my heart to thrill
a mirror of the Lord’s
