add oil
add oil
Lauren Hall
โdo not despise the small thingsโ
the simmer on a stove
the small step forward followed by
the small step forward
the quiet coexistence in the dining room
on the days when turbulence persists
there is still an anchoring
a groundedness
not in airtight logic or
well-reasoned conclusions
but in the unfinished thoughts
that dared to exist
& the flicker of light at your feet
beckoning you closer
if you pause to be still
too easily forgotten
& yet, there it is
glowing, unwavering, constant
