Winter Sun
Winter Sun
Margo Swiss
The winter sun creeps by the snow hills;
The stubborn season had made stand.
“A Song for Simeon,” T. S. Eliot
Not a breath from You
in this frozen land
not a sound
not a word.
Wind chills the heart
locked tight holds.
Seen this place before
know it well.
Be calm as can
intending to be
patient grateful even
days weeks months.
Till
late afternoon sun
shone on
winter-bare branches
healing light
broke
through
and You
were there
everywhere.
