The Well

They are already rolling in,
these strange little storms
that rain upon my breakfast.
And I am sure I am outside myself,
since there is a crater the storm rings around,
and the pit is in my guts or just above them,
and I must be outside myself when
the wet soaks my clothes and
I begin to dissolve and drain
into the gutter of my guts
down to God knows where.
