Tamar's Fear

Tamar's Fear

Tamar's Fear

Noelle Wells

(Unfiltered)

I’m afraid of the questions I’ll ask you
In the valley of shadows

Afraid of finding dirt beneath your nails
And scratches on your face

Afraid of you being God
And of having watched

From a corner patiently
While hungry wolves lurked

Waiting gently
For my eyes to lift up and see you

And realize this wasn’t dissonant
To you
In your anthems of love
To me

That you wrote for me a tale
Deeper than hades

And signed your name in hearts.
