Second Adam

Second Adam

Second Adam

Allen Jacob Serrano

He’s here standing in the fall –
much on His mind at this midnight hour,
patiently replanting what was purloined,
after something so carnal has slithered past.

In a massive circle of anonymous ones,
blanketed by guilt in the paradise they fleshed out,
He, the only man daring to use His name,
retreats in solitude to tour among the trees.

He wails down and dirty, blood on His brow,
as they slumber wholly in nakedness,
their pleasures whisking Him away,
and His cry is unearthed in the gardening:

β€œMy deliverance is your recovery.”
β€œWhere you are is not where you will stay.”
β€œCome out of hiding.”
β€œI am taking you back home.”
