The Divine

I found a honey pot in the middle of the sea 
that boasted bags of salt in her womb 
and noticed the pot was never devoured
only kept as a treasure for an unknown trousseau
but a figure walked
with solid steps on her white foam 
becoming one with her ripples 
and I asked the figure
why all the salt in the world was not enough
to make that honey bitter 
for it was always full of sweetness 
and he questioned,
“Have you ever tasted either?”
And then, I guess, I knew
the difference between taste
and terrible assumptions

Writer & Actor

Yukti is an Indian creative writer, screenwriter, and actor, and has been published in several literary magazines and anthologies including Room Magazine, Forest Publishing, The Mulberry Literary, Indian Review, and Sunday Mornings at the River. Yukti has poetry, prose, short films, writing on art, dramas, and theatre plays to her credit, and wishes to be a versatile storyteller. Her debut book, 'There Is A Home In All Of Us' is a fiction-poetry collection released in March 2023 with Khalis House Publishing, UK. She is working to make it big in literature and cinema.
