Isaac Akanmu
so you want to see a grown man cry?
there, behind the tree, you’ll see
a baby boy in a man’s body
hiding, seeking, peekabooing.
when you find him, simply tell him,
“i know what you did” ー
he shall surely cry.
and should you desire to dry his tears ー
find his lifegiver, his father, his daddy.
he will be strolling the day’s cool hours
calling out for his son.
when you find him, simply tell him,
“your manchild cries” ー
he will know why, he will know where.
observe his haste, his technique
as he swaddles the manchild
in the land’s most lavish drip ー
until man’s waterworks turn wells of promise.
