All That is Hidden

All That is Hidden

All That is Hidden

Heather Kaufmann

Luke 8:16-17

I want to know
what’s beyond the peripheral
of knowing, what secrets crowd
in shadows, their sallow skin
so lucid in the dark
(would it turn to crystal
when bared beneath the sun?)

I want to see what you see
with your infinite eyes
past the viridian border
of the churning sea
to carry the light of you
deep within, as magma
at the center of this
volcanic wish.
