A Psalm For My Friends Who Lost Loved Ones

There is much to mourn.
We have watched many pass away,
Felt the groans of the oppressed and the poor.
We have labored to do what is right,
To see justice in the courts and the streets.
We wake up,
and we pray,
and we wait,
hoping the evil will subside,
that Death will not come for those we love.
Yet, he persists.
Sin, conquers.

The princes are cunning, yet
They do not love us.

But we,
Are people of the Light.
We eat what is good,
And are satisfied.
We are misunderstood,
Yet burdened with hope.

Comfort your people, O Lord.
You are our only salvation.
