A Glossy Break
A Glossy Break
C.L. Fisher
I lapse
into a melancholy,
a familiar friend,
a sea I swim in,
a glossy break —
sun glinting
before it fades —
but I stay
just above the waves,
sea-salt punches,
a pounding assault
over open wounds,
but the sting
reminds me
I am alive....
And I see
a horizon
that stretches
wide and endless,
promising
every good
thing still
exists.
