What Is There to Doubt?

Prayer—cradle your head
in cupped hands and spill
forth. Into that dark trough
flood the truest things you know:
fears, regrets, gratitude, love –
and then the miracle:

 you glimpse yourself:

 a string of misshapen pearls
somehow reflecting light,
somehow noble now,
raised in offering
to the Mystery.
