The Gray Fox Vanishes

The gray fox darts from the copse,
flashes into field, drops, melts,
vanishes. β€œI said, β€˜No oaths,’ but
what did you take upon yourself
for those future, ecclesiastical
buildings and budgets?” Rises with
bloodrust throat, sprints to
blackberry bramble, vanishes.
β€œI told you not to hoard gold,
but what of those diversified investments?”
A strike of midnight and stormcloud.
β€œThe cosmic litmus test is not only
do you treasure what you cannot see,
but do you also hate money?”
The gray fox vanishes.
