The streams know no hours,
As they emulate the sky’s azure.
The silvery pine needles’ edge
Alight with God’s glory, jagged
Testify in their constancy that
‘Light resides in each living thing.’
Where the junip does not grow,
Cottontails yearn, instead, for the clove.
How keen are those
With Needs as simple as these:
God’s handiwork, to fill our stomachs
His guidance, by which we satiate our spirits.
