Yes, to tug at the purse of a Renaissance prince
And have scurrying assistants
Ducking their heads at your imprecations
As you stand hand on hips
Wondering how to fill the palace wall
Yes, it would be nice to have a studio so spacious,
So filled with young artists hoping to glean your secrets
But first, how can one expect near perfection
Staring at that small apple you were cursed with
Almost there, almost there,
Wondering how Cezanne beat them into submission
Without bruising the peel.
