For my 2020 baby
What I grew like a fruit or a flower
I do not remember
the plague year. The year effloresced. I walked
down the daffodil path
I had all my white routes. My formal
constraints. Then
sectioned
my heart was a gloss
was lemmata: a flowering,
husk.
A fruit cut from the stalk:
it was you. Tacenda.
The church sent me flowers. I held you.
