After Psalm 50

After Psalm 50

After Psalm 50

E.R. Skulmoski

I am a beast in your field now, O God,
my understanding lower than that of cattle
and I thought I had teeth to eat
the food you give

but now, faith is over microwaved
plastic, stained and orange
—a broken church window!
—a fallen cedar in Lebanon
carried away by a paper ship
