Saint Francis Ministers to the Owls at Rogue River
Saint Francis Ministers to the Owls at Rogue River
Timothy Tarkelly
Needle-fine pinyon scraps,
a spine, a blue bead.
Some feathers travel
from far oceans,
jungles that rest
in similar rhythms,
chests that rise and beat
along the waterβs edge.
Where we all once played
and were dealt raw labor,
no beasts of burden
to save our shoulders
from holding up the planet.
