Numinous
Numinous
Noah Thomas
How could I instruct a tree to praise the Lord?
When he reaches toward the sun
And kneels at the breath of the wind
Or the whale to meditate?
The hour long reach of his breaths
Sounding down calling deep to deep
Or tie lovebugs in marriage?
Living tethered soul to soul
Life as long as their honeymoon
To compel fields of wheat to five thousand feed?
Reaching humbly in the sun
Breaking his body into bread
Or rains to rise in worship?
Whose roars and songs for hours stretch
Trumpets calling from age to age
To tell a man he is not loved?
Heart pumping red and his breath
Holy breath like a honeymoon
