to tug & tear
along the hem
of evening
tongue stitched
to the roof
of your mouth
in midnight blues
sadness wears
like frayed
lining pinned
under your skin
seams unstitch
the night awake
sorrow a needle
pulling threads
tying grief &
distress in knots
tight as an
eyelet dress
your soul
a seamstress
dressed
for lament
