Baby
Baby
Casie Dodd
I saw your arteries wink
through static fuzz
before you came roaring.
Blood became bone,
painted a chin I’ve seen somewhere else
but not with that twitch of the lip.
Blood hardens now as a rock in the chest—
stares back out of spheres I’ve seen only in glass,
glowing here in a dark, dark room.
