Corners
Corners
Kaitlin Ruiz
You lose your moments at the corners.
Time, that silverfish,
fastens its feather duster jaws
on all you try your hand at mending.
Someday you’ll go outside and see
the fireflies pouncing, irradiated chess pieces.
You’ll recall soft teeth; an upheld napkin,
coughed, what sounded like, your move.
