The author of confusion

But here I am
Here you are
Here we are

Trying to figure out
How four plus five
Somehow gave us
Forty – nine.

While we are below
And you up there
Will you swing below?

I am not upset
Only in a state of lament

When will you turn towards us?

When will you say that it has
Always been us?

That we were never left behind
That you still love
Your ninety-nine.
