Echolocation

Echolocation

Echolocation

Jane Zwart

After the ark came to rest, Noah launched birds
to see whether they would ricochet back
into his hands, vibrating with where they’d been.

As with all prayers, echolocation was both
what his reverence demanded and what his doubt flung
(boomerang or satellite?) over a rail into the void.
