The Geometry of Daisies
The Geometry of Daisies
C.L. Fisher
And I thought only the stars could muddle me....
I found You in the eye
of a daisy some bee
was ransacking,
and I could see
a universe inside
this geometry
waiting to leave
on tiny legs loaded
with pixels of creation,
just like the stuff of us
that we trample, mow,
poison, discard as weeds—
some little particles
that You called
into being,
and then I am startled
to realize that one eye is
made of hundreds,
and I strain trying to
see beyond my feeble
vision into the perfect,
infinitesimal truth
of everything.
