From Lips to Luminosity
From Lips to Luminosity
By Morgan Ruth Chin-Yee
find the push and pull of your voice,
embrace pressure, cherish tension
pull each word inwards
until it touches the back of your silence
and stretches the walls of your waiting,
let the power that grew in cavities
combust into glorious future,
ignite bruised skies with your sound
travelling from lips to luminosity,
gun powder was invented
for fireworks and not for weapons;
pull your voice not the trigger
into a song rather than violence
