Advent In Congregant Care

Mike Bonikowsky

In the group home they are waiting

Waiting for the phone to ring
Waiting for the pill to work
Waiting for the shift to change
Waiting till the curve goes flat

Waiting for vaccines to be
Waiting for the Lord to come
Waiting till restrictions lift
On the deaf, blind, mute, and lame.

On the day that he returns
They’ll be waiting by the door
With their shoes already on
Telling me to hurry up.
