“The Christian imagination” – an incongruous phrase in the evangelical church where I grew up. Thankfully, my mother balanced that out and provided a wealth of stories, art, and music that developed my heart and mind to see the world through a lens of wonder. In the joys and sorrows of life since then, however, I lost sight of the wonder and it took a world-wide pandemic to bring me back to where I’d begun. I found Ekstasis in the middle of 2020 and at the fireside I am challenged, encouraged, and drawn onward in the rediscovery of what it looks like for me to live with my imagination revived.
