I feel that Ekstasis has been meaningful to me before I knew it existed. Through many occasions of difficult emotion, heavy thoughts, and deep longing mixed with introspection, I have learned that the hard things in life are beautiful, too. There is something to savoring heartache, taking time to understand and appreciate the beauty in burdens, seeing the world with your Companion and observing the hurt we go through for the love, hope, and brokenness it communicates. I think this is how we honor our pain.

Before Ekstasis, I thought this was a strange thing I learned. I thought it was unlikely that the beauty in the heavy things was seen by others as well. Ekstasis gifted me with the realization that God is with others in the same way. Knowing that is yet another beautiful thing.
