Works of the imagination reveal what we truly believe, for here our values are embodied, here they come alive. Art forms like fiction can be a more vivid and powerful way to express our beliefs than "I think" statements, and where we can hide what we really believe behind platitudes, in art, all is fleshed out. Recent Christian works of art have been flat, shallow, clichรฉ, like the flat watered-down faith that has been accepted and passed on in North America, rather than the burning, santifying torch that the Christian faith truly is. My hope is that a revival of our imagination will awaken us to see that our faith too, needs to be revived - from a colorless statement that has not come alive in our souls to the true power of the Holy Spirit at work in us. I see the seeds of this revival in the work of Ekstasis magazine, and I pray that many would be thus drawn to Him.
